Who Are We?

 The Kinsmen Club of Ajax is an affiliate of the Kinsmen and Kinette Clubs of Canada which is comprised of over 600 clubs across Canada. Our club is a volunteer organization made up of men who wish to make Ajax a better place to live. Our members are proud to call Ajax home and wish to make our community one of the best communities in Canada.
  Our club is dedicated to serve and to raise funds to be put back into our community. The majority of the funds raised by our club stay in the community of Ajax and Durham Region.
Our national charity of choice is Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation .
 History of the Association

The Association was founded on Feb. 20, 1920 in Hamilton, Ontario by Harold A. Rogers O.C., O.B.E. (1899-1994). Rogers was 21 and had just returned from the trenches of the First World War when his father, a prominent Rotarian, encouraged him to get together a few young men his own age. However, when Rogers decided to join the same Rotary club as his father, his application was rejected. It was the policy of the Rotary not to have two members from the same business establishment. As a result of this rejection, Rogers and a small group of men gathered for a dinner meeting and became the first Kinsmen Club - the Kinsmen Club of Hamilton, Ontario.

More than 8,500 members belong to 575 Kinsmen, Kinette and Kin clubs from coast to coast. Kinsmen clubs are predominantly male-only while Kinette clubs are predominantly female-only. Kin clubs have a mixed membership of men and women. The Association was founded in Canada and there are no clubs outside of Canada.

Why should I join the Kinsmen Club of Ajax?

Joining the Kinsmen Club of Ajax will allow me to:

MAKE A CONTRIBUTION to improve my community; develop personally in chairing or participating in club projects; network in our community; and make lifetime friendships.

Our Club boasts 5 former mayors of Ajax and two Regional Chairs.
 All members in our organization end up making a difference in the town of Ajax and grow personally along the way. The accent is on having fun while we improve our community.

What are my commitments if I join Kinsmen?

We hold two general dinner meetings on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month from September to June. Members run a local BINGO throughout the year.

What are the costs associated with being a member?

There is an annual due of $100.00 per year. Dinner costs (optional) at general meetings are usually about $11.00. However, while a member you will be provided with hats, shirts, sweatshirts at no charge as you are a representative of the club. The cost of these items alone is approximately $100.00.

Who qualifies as a member?

We are looking for community minded males who want to make a difference in the Town of Ajax. If you recently moved to Ajax our club is a great place to learn about your community.
Prospective members must attend three general meetings and participate at one Bingo Fundraiser to be eligible to join.
